Interfaith Ministry & Holistic Wellness House

At Arcadia Angelic Sanctuary Interfaith Ministry (AASIM), Our Interfaith Ideals or Inclusive Spiritual Philosophy consist of honouring the sacredness and Divine wisdom of all people, religions, faiths and spiritual traditions, by celebrating the Love that flows through them all. As a Universal Spirituality our Interfaith ideals/philosophy allow each person the "Spiritual Freedom" to define their own expression and experience of the Divine. In short, the essence of AASIM is best summed up in this Hindu saying: "For those in whom Love dwells, all the world is ONE family."

There are many paths to God/Spirit and at AASIM we believe they are all valid and worthy of respect. God/Spirit created humans in an amazing variety - we come in all sizes, shapes and colours and with different needs and tastes. Some people will be best nourished by one type of food while others will thrive best on something different. So, too, will different people be nourished spiritually by different traditions. We also believe that it is not the form of religious or spiritual practice that is important but the "Sacred Intent" that underlies it. AASIM recognizes that God/Spirit is in all things and in all people. To quote an old Jewish saying: "God is like a mirror. Whoever looks in it will see a different face."

With a special interest in Mother Mary (Patron Saint of Acadians or Acadia, where our House Church is located), Angels and Mother Earth,  at AASIM we strive to promote true respect for all the diverse paths to God/Spirit. Respect is different from tolerance – for tolerance implies merely putting up with something you find disagreeable, whereas respect involves valuing and appreciating something for it’s own true nature. This does NOT mean that we advocate blending all religions into one great big "super-religion"! Rather, our Interfaith ideals/philosophy embodys a  way of life that compliment any religion, faith or spiritual tradition. Properly understood, AASIM's Interfaith ideals can be a means of unifying opposing religions, faiths and spiritual traditions, proving that none of them is superior to the other but that each possesses the same Truth and all lead to the same Source.

Many adherents of the Interfaith Movement are also devout followers of other particular paths such as: Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, Native Spirituality, Islam, or Buddhism, just to name a few. There are also people who have no formally designated path. Additionally, Interfaith adherents believe that there is One Divine Source or Infinite Creative Intelligence called by many names: God/Goddess, Spirit, Allah, Higher Power, Universal Father/Mother God, Brahma or Yahweh; to name but a few.

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama says:

"I always believed that it is much better to have a variety of religions, a variety of philosophies, rather than one single religion or philosophy. This is necessary because of the different mental dispositions of each human being. Each religion has certain unique ideas or techniques, and learning about them can only enrich one's own faith."
